Abstract

In 2023, the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region is reopening. Following the last few years of the pandemic, the changes made in how enterprises connect with their employees, customers, and partners have fundamentally changed. The way we work, live, and play has gone through a transformation that is unparalleled in the last decade. The question is whether we can maintain the momentum. The indications from IDC surveys and feedback from vendors is that momentum is being maintained. IDC's MaturityScape benchmark for Asia/Pacific indicates that an increasing number of enterprises are taking their future of connectedness (FoC) strategy toward the upper levels of managed and optimized stages of the FoC MaturityScape though they are still a long way to go in terms of getting everybody to a holistic and integrated connected strategy.

This study provides IDC's top 10 predictions for FoC in APEJ for the next five years (2023–2028). The document examines numerous topics, such as cloud communications, 5G road map, cloud WAN, metaverse, and resiliency.
