In a subsequent study titled SMB Cloud Adoption Characteristics and Market Potential in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) 2022–2025, IDC predicts huge room for growth for frontier technologies based on cloud services for SMBs that are just at the start of their digital transformation (DX) journey.
SMBs are a key and majority component of APEJ economies that comprise more than 98% of enterprises. They generate the largest number of employment opportunities, second only to agriculture, employing more than 50% of the workforce. SMBs are more vulnerable than large firms in terms of cash flow, accessing debt financing and manpower supply.
