Many useful resources are always available at IDC, including the surrounding colleagues, either junior, senior, or peer, and either local or remote. Combining with the chances to learn more from talking and sharing with people from different industries, it helps me understand better where we are today and where we are heading, creating a piece of success in IDC.
What has been the most unique experience or day you’ve had in IDC?At IDC, I can learn and exchange great ideas with a vast variety of technology owners and industry executives. Beyond making a contribution to the team as defined by the job itself, in parallel I can also create additional value through learning new things and gaining more knowledge for myself, and become more matured. The working culture at IDC also provides the opportunities to manage my work-life balance, which is not easy to find in other organizations.

I’d like to say thank you to IDC management team as they have considered to develop our IT facilities as a mobile office concept. This concept is very helpful and very productive which enables us to work from everywhere.
What is your favorite part of your job?With this role, I’m getting the opportunity to manage an entire event by myself and learn new challenges in every kind of event, which is getting increasingly interested every year. In addition, I also enjoy working on event creatives, this makes me excited when it’s presented in front of people.

Definitely the We-Day that was organized for our IDC office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was a fun filled outing where our entire office went to an extreme park called District 21. There were team building activities during which was interesting to witness colleagues show their true nature against their usual timid self in the office. Everyone was fired up with enthusiasm to win. I think that shows the spirit of IDC.
What’s been the biggest surprise about working in IDC?Opportunities are given to you regardless if you are a new comer or have limited experience. The learning curve is steep but I realize my learning capabilities have grown tremendously. There are great superiors and colleagues here at IDC who are always willing to guide and give you all the support you need.

What is your favorite part of your job?Be a GMS team member, the most impressive part for me is I can understand the trends of ICT and through each project IDC can provide strategic insights to help different ICT players achieve their business objects, it gives me a sense of accomplishment as well.

How would you describe IDC’s culture?In the New Zealand office we have a small close knit team of 15, hard work is mixed with fun and humour. We hold regular social events, from wine tasting to games and quizzes, we’re a pretty competitive bunch. We often work individually but when required the team is great at coming together to help deliver large projects and events.

What has been the most unique experience or day you've had in IDC?My first presentation at the Mobility conference in 2016 – the amount of effort the team puts collectively behind the scenes is amazing. I had recently joined IDC and was naturally nervous but the support I received from colleagues was great. Be it preparing the presentation or sitting through countless rehearsals – the team was very supportive in ensuring it was successful.
