Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight discusses a finding from IDC's 2023 AIOPS and Observability Survey that related function with which the observability data was often shared was IT service management (ITSM). It discusses the ITSM practices devoted to resolving and preventing technical issues, and how observability data, particularly in combination with artificial intelligence (AI), can help improve resolution. "Observability data can help technical teams identify issues early, resolve them more quickly, and manage problems to help prevent them from recurring, which can then help provide better experiences for end users," said Snow Tempest, research manager for IT Service Management at IDC.
