Abstract
This IDC Perspective looks at how augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are used among healthcare professionals, ranging from training and education to information sharing and therapy. It also takes a look at what interested companies should be mindful of when bringing AR/VR to their healthcare organizations.
"Augmented reality and virtual reality have reached multiple industries to enhance and improve the way professionals work, and healthcare is one of the markets holding the most potential," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director, Augmented and Virtual Reality at IDC. "From the outset, AR/VR will not replace some of the ways that healthcare professionals do their work.
