Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights how organizations are prioritizing their 2024 IT spending in light of an expected recession. Even with concerns around a potential recession, decision-makers anticipate that their IT budgets will remain the same or increase compared with 2023. They are also still committed to investment in generative AI, especially to supplement financial/operational decision support applications. Generative AI is posed to have a significant impact on IT budgeting in the coming years, according to the most recent wave of the Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey and the GenAI ARC Survey by IDC.
