Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights results from the following two questions posed to 476 respondents and firms with 1,000+ employees across 5 countries, and several major industries, as part of IDC's 2023 Worldwide Managed Services Survey. Please select which of the following reflects how your company/organization will be utilizing offshore/nearshore resources (talent located in lower-cost regions such as India, China, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, and Czech) and Role of Offshore/Nearshore. Please select what your company/organization believes is the primary role of utilizing offshore/nearshore resources as part of a managed services engagement."

This IDC Survey Spotlight then assesses the impact of enterprise priorities in utilizing offshore/nearshore resources as part of managed services and highlights how managed SPs need to ensure alignment of offshore capabilities with new operating model for managed "cloud" services, incorporate offshore as part of a risk management function for managed cloud services, and invest in offshore talent that can support a systems-centric approach to managed cloud services.
