Abstract

This IDC Survey focuses on the evolution of AI adoption trends in corporate banking for 2024. It is based on primary research conducted by IDC Financial Insights across regions in 4Q23.

Corporate banks are today leveraging AI in many activities, and the deployment of AI solutions is growing worldwide. AI adoption leads to improved customer satisfaction through enhanced fraud prevention, personal data protection, and personalized customer offerings.

This IDC Survey investigates the maturity of AI implementations and trends around initiatives in the different business areas. While AI benefits are widely recognized, corporate banks must address several challenges to leverage the potential of AI. This presentation also illustrates the most promising generative AI (GenAI) use cases in corporate banks' perception.

AI provides great support to risk management, but AI models themselves represent a risk that must be managed. Therefore, this presentation also investigates the risks associated with AI models and the ways banks are addressing them. "Advancements in ML, AI, and GenAI are leading to wider deployments of AI, but banks must address concerns and mitigate the risks associated with AI models by introducing appropriate governance processes. Humans must be in control," said Maria Adele Di Comite, research director, IDC Financial Insights.
