Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight presents select findings from IDC's 2Q23 Cloud Pulse Survey. The survey was conducted in January 2023 and includes responses from 1,357 IT and line-of-business (LOB) personnel who are familiar with their organization's cloud infrastructure and applications, as well as their organization's IT strategy and future technology investments. Quantum computing is expected to be an industry disruptor, which will empower end users to solve the most complex intractable problems that are beyond the scope of classical compute systems. IDC research consistently indicates that organizations interested in quantum computing expect to use this technology to augment their performance-intensive computing (PIC) infrastructure. This IDC Survey Spotlight investigates the PIC workloads that organizations expect to run on quantum systems.
