Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight discusses increasing use of edge in retail and priority areas for new edge deployments. Edge usage in retail continues its rapid growth, a strong acknowledgement of the benefits of moving computing closer to the data source. As testament to the new priority retailers place on using data more effectively for faster insights, there was a marked jump in the number of retailers planning to deploy AI/ML/analytics workloads on an edge location.
