Abstract
This IDC Perspective presents several key issues that have separated themselves in IDC's conversations between C-suite executives and infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders. Although some of these were priorities in early 2023, other themes have quickly elevated themselves because of business and economic pressures. Strategic themes, such as infrastructure platform engineering, automation, cloud cost transparency, multicloud, public and private cloud, mainframe modernization, and others, will continue to be important investment themes moving into 2024 and beyond.
