Abstract
This IDC study examines the market share of cloud system software vendors in 2021 as well as the market forces that influenced their performances. Cloud system software is a submarket of the software-defined compute (SDC) software functional market.
"The cloud operating model is taking hold within enterprises, particularly in light of the disruption caused by the pandemic," says Gary Chen, research director, Software-Defined Compute at IDC. "We are seeing transformations to cloud architectures on premises as part of multicloud, hybrid cloud, NFV, and digital resilience strategies, which are resulting in demand for cloud system software."
