This IDC study highlights how the landscape of managed SPs for managed cloud services are evolving as players are utilizing different strategies to either maintain leadership or climb the ranks to become the leader in this market.
"Competition in winning managed cloud services deals is becoming more intense as different players involving managed SPs and cloud SPs are not only vying for delivering cloud services utilizing different 'factory models' but are also competing to be the prime supplier involving partnership opportunities between these two segments of service providers," says David Tapper, program VP, Outsourcing and Managed Cloud Services at IDC. "Ensuring success for managed SPs will require that they brand themselves as managing complexity, position themselves as general contractors, provide a holistic governance structure, invest in platform models, and develop channel models."
