This IDC study assesses vendors that provide standalone, packaged business intelligence and analytics (BIA) software for U.S. state and local governments, with a focus on software that is used primarily for data exploration and analysis by business or data analysts via a no-code user interface. BIA technologies are essential tools to help state and local governments more effectively use their existing and incoming data, improve the data literacy of staff, and foster a data-based knowledge culture and the ability to apply the resulting knowledge pervasively across the organization at scale.
