Abstract

This IDC Survey highlights part of the results of IDC's European Business Automation Survey 2024, providing insights into organizations' usage and view of business automation technologies, including robotic process automation, workflow automation, process mining, document automation, and application integration platforms.

The survey, which was conducted in January 2024, polled 500 enterprises in Europe. The sample quota comprises respondents from 13 countries with three different roles: business management (34%), technology management (46%), and technology practitioner (20%).

"The survey results show that most companies in Europe consider automation as a key enabler of their future development, with some organizations making business automation part of their strategies. Regardless of, or in addition to, this positive attitude, organizations focus on tangible results within their business operations. In fact, almost all organizations in Europe measure or plan to measure automation's business value at different levels of their operations. This might be a message to vendors and service providers that automation is becoming a business-focused domain rather than a general IT domain, and that their offerings should account for changing end-user perceptions." Elena Semenovskaia, Research Director, IDC Europe.
