Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights results from IDC's Global Sustainability Readiness Survey in August 2023. The survey illustrates that European organizations perceive generative AI (GenAI) as an important technology that can support the operationalization of their ESG/sustainability strategy in several areas, particularly relating to IT and energy efficiency.
"European organizations have somewhat exaggerated expectations on how GenAI can support their sustainability endeavors. There are currently few use cases, and the potential benefits of GenAI for sustainability remain vague — and will take some time to develop," said Katharina Grimme, AVP and EMEA research lead.
