This IDC Market Share analyzes the evolution of public PaaS vendor market shares in Europe in 2022.
"Competing in the public PaaS space is very demanding, and most vendors venturing in this space commit to a sustained pace of technology innovation and product development. A mentality driven by several product feature releases per year is not working with public PaaS, and vendors that compete there know this well. It is a high-energy space in which vendors outcompete each other on how fast they grow product functionality and meet practitioners' vast data and application development and delivery needs. Such a competitive landscape keeps vendors on their toes. There is room for disruption and market share gain/loss, as the long tail is really long. Many vendors have their eyes set on breaking away, and shooting upward, from their current market position," said George Mironescu, research lead, App Dev/Delivery in Europe.
