Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the implications of shortage in expertise and skilled workers in technology-oriented value chain (TOVC) organizations. A TOVC organization operates in an innovation-driven environment that generates valuable intellectual property (IP) and complex data, which makes its security protection much more complicated. Concern over data security is becoming a business priority, especially with increasing integration and adoption of cloud-based operations. The demand of IT skilled workers is utmost critical in managing internal and external IT operations.
This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on IDC's February 2022 Manufacturing Talent Management Survey, which surveyed 365 manufacturing organizations worldwide, all of which are currently focused on talent/the skills gap.
